British culture typically celebrates landmark birthdays such as 18ths and 21sts, but our poll of 2,027 UK adults has revealed which ages Brits should really look forward to the most.
The findings interestingly revealed that the age at which we are most happy with our lives is 36 as according to the data, we have already ticked off a multitude of key adulthood milestones by this age.
In fact, the results showed that your late twenties and early thirties are the time to most look forward to, as there are plenty of special occasions and achievements that are taking place.
On average, at age 29, Brits tend to get engaged, buy their first car and feel at the peak of their physical health, while at 30, people are likely to be having their first baby.
As we move into our thirties, most people get married at 31, buy their first house at 32 and tend to feel happiest with their romantic relationship or love life by the age of 33.
35 is the age most Brits feel happiest with their career, while also being the age the majority of adults report having their highest level of self-confidence and feel happiest with their social circles and friendships.
During the thirty sixth year of most people’s lives, they reported that they were not only happiest with their life overall – but also most satisfied with their family life, too.
The results of the poll also shows that there is plenty to celebrate in the following decade, too – with our 40s seemingly representing the decade of security. British adults report feeling the happiest in terms of their home and assets and their financial situations at 41 and 42 respectively.
We also asked what Brits look forward to most about their birthday celebrations, with spending time with family and friends, receiving presents and receiving birthday messages appearing top of the list!
