If you thought your collection of tie-dye shirts and hoodies were just for summer festivals, think again. The ‘60s hippy print first resurfaced on the catwalk; we saw rainbow tie-dye at Burberry, oversized t-shirt dresses in pastels colours at Stella McCartney, a kaleidoscopic-print bodysuit from Proenza Schouler, and mini dresses and A-line skirts with psychedelic swirls from Prada. And the high-street has quickly jumped on the trend, offering everything from jeans, jackets and pleated midi skirts.
The street-style set at New York Fashion Week gave tie-dye a modern update. We saw a swirl patterned hoodie worn over a pretty pink polka dot dress. Psychedelic t-shirts were paired with gelato-inspired tailoring. And trench-style orange splattered coats were worn with coordinating leggings and runners.
